Cruise the South Pacific November 2008

On 15th November 2008 Australia's first unofficial 7 day swingers cruise will leave Brisbane for the South Pacific Islands. All open minded couples from around the country and the world are invited to attend.

Why "unofficial"? Because the cruise line have not organised this, or approved it, and are making no special allowance for us. We are only members of a social group who have all decided to book on a particular cruise. There will be no special rules of behaviour for us - the cruise line doesn't allow any public nudity or sex and we will have to adhere to all the normal rules. This is not a swingers club, so you will not be allowed to act like it is. However, there are no rules about what you choose to do in the privacy of your own cabin. If everyone brings a calm mature attitude, the other passengers will not even know we are there.

So how does it work?

Firstly, the cruise line does not know anything about this. We will just be a large number of people who happen to book for the same cruise. There will be no fanfare, special mentions in the Captain's speech, or private functions. Accordingly, we will be absolutely guided by the ships rules for behaviour and will have to be very discrete outside the privacy of our cabins. There is absolutely no nudity or public sex allowed on the boat in public areas.

We will all meet at the same time and place before dinner each night to organise the evening. We'll let you know where before we sail.

We will have a few host couples on board to introduce you to each other during the cruise. We have found that people on a normal cruise make lots of friends really easily, so people from our world will get to know each other really quickly we think.

The cruise is for couples only. Singles will not be allowed or issued with lanyards. No doubt some will try and join in, but they will not be acknowledged.

How do you know who is part of our group while onboard?

While on the cruise, every passenger wears a lanyard around their neck that holds their on-board credit card (for buying drinks) and the card that opens their cabin door. We will supply a distinctive lanyard (but not one that screams "swingers" to the world - if you do not know about them, you would not even notice) to anyone who registers with us so we will recognise each other easily. If you see another couple with the same lanyard as yours, go and say hello - they are part of our group.

If you are sick of talking to strangers for a while, just take your lanyard off and use a standard one they sell on board.

We will be holding drinks nights at a pub in Brisbane about once a month for people to meet other couples interested in the cruise. The last of these will be the night before we sail so our interstate visitors can all meet up. And of course there is no charge but buy your own drinks.

If anyone would like to host a drinks night in your own city, let us know and we will help you organise it and make sure you are 100% up with what everyone needs to know.

What does it cost?

Just book your cruise where-ever you like for the cheapest price you can find. There are ads running for 4 berth cabins from $695 per person, or two berth for about $1000 per person. We have one couple booked a balcony suite for about $2500 each, and we are in the best of the normal cabins for $1300 each. You can book at your travel agent, online, or anywhere else. All food is included, but you can spend a bit on drinks, duty free shopping and shore tours.

If this gets a good response, the cheap fares will sell out quickly and you will have to pay more, so book early. Most travel agents will book you now but you don't have to pay for a few weeks.

(Just don't ask for the swingers cruise when you book :)

So how do we make money from this?

We don't. You will never have to give us $1. We aren't organising your booking for you, so we don't get any cut of your fare. In fact, between supplying lanyards, web hosting and advertising, it will cost us a fair bit of cash and countless hours of organising.

We are doing this for fun. We love cruising, and think it would be great to have a whole pile of swingers / friends on the cruise with us. We think this will be a great way to make friends all over the country.

(We won't say no if you buy us a drink though ;)

The only thing we ask is that you don't expect to get professional levels of service as tour guides when we are doing this for free. We will play hosts and help you all get together during the cruise, but we are not responsible for your entertainment. If you have any complaints, we will give back all the money you gave us (none). The very worst thing that can happen is you pay for a cruise and get the same as every other passenger. (Sorry about this paragraph, but it has to be said.)

Friday night 14th November is the night before we sail. Because we will have couples flying in from all over the country, we have decided to have drinks at Mikes Place so they can check out the Brisbane club scene. We are arriving before the general public at 7PM so we can say hi before everyone else arrives.

We thought this would be a great chance for any couple who have never been to a club to experience it in a safe group environment.
